As a part-time Pharmacy Technician at Methodist Hospital Northlake, you will assist in various inpatient pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include interpreting, entering, preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications, while maintaining excellent customer service with patients at the counter and via telephone. You will also assist with purchasing medications for the pharmacy and restock pharmacy shelves. This position requires minimal supervision and adherence to pharmacy standards, written procedures, and state regulatory requirements.

Schedule: This part-time position is 24 hours per week with scheduled day and evening shifts, including every other weekend rotation. You may be required to work at the Southlake campus in Merrillville based on business needs.

The Northlake campus is located in Gary, while the Southlake campus is in Merrillville. Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
  • IN Licensure/Registration/Certification requirements
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written

Hospital Requirements:

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination)
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
  • COVID Vaccine
