POSITION SUMMARY

Apex Systems is seeking a seasoned Business Continuity Analyst with extensive expertise in Business Continuity strategy and evaluation. The ideal candidate will oversee the Business Continuity framework across the organization, collaborating with various internal and external parties to guarantee the robustness of the Business Continuity program against potential disruptions. Responsibilities include monitoring and coordinating regular updates to existing strategies, ensuring thorough reviews, and documenting necessary approvals. The role also involves expanding the scope of Business Continuity strategies based on stakeholder feedback and assessed business significance. It is crucial that Business Continuity strategies align seamlessly with Disaster Recovery plans, addressing both conventional and ransomware threats. The Analyst will manage daily operations related to Business Continuity while ensuring synergy with other IT resilience initiatives. Understanding organizational priorities and the implications of failures in internal and external dependencies, including IT infrastructure and supplier relationships, is essential for maintaining service delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Oversee the governance of Business Continuity program initiatives, including mission/vision, charter, policies, standards, steering committee, budget, and program management metrics and reporting.


• Prepare and present regular updates (PowerPoint presentations) of the Business Continuity program to senior leadership.


• Conduct business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments as required throughout the organization.


• Ensure the development, maintenance, and testing of appropriate Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, crisis management, crisis communication, and third-party contingency plans by relevant business owners.


• Align Disaster Recovery plans and other operational recovery strategies with Business Continuity plans.


• Maintain accurate records of developed plans.


• Design and facilitate testing and exercises related to business continuity plans and crisis management execution.


• Assist with navigating Business Continuity plans during events.


• Support post-exercise evaluations, summaries, enhancements, and resolutions.


• Provide training to business units in relation to Business Continuity plan management.


• Offer recommendations regarding business continuity and disaster recovery systems to enhance coverage and minimize operational disruptions.


• Cultivate relationships with key business and administrative stakeholders to uphold the effectiveness of business continuity processes.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities that demonstrate the capacity to define, gather, and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make informed decisions.


• Skills necessary to assist with Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery and Incident Response operations.


• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to achieve results.


• Capability to effectively communicate business continuity and disaster recovery requirements to all organizational levels, including senior management.


• Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships across various management levels to achieve consensus among diverse audiences with differing goals and objectives.


• Ability to work autonomously and manage project timelines with minimal oversight.


• Comprehensive understanding of Business Continuity management and resilience principles.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Capacity to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Preferred:


• Experience in project management within a Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery context.


• Coordination of large-scale initiatives in the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and/or IT Security domains.


• Familiarity with various information security technologies and business applications.


• Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP), Fellow Business Continuity Institute (FBCI), Member Business Continuity Institute (MBCI), and/or NIMS/ICS.
