Experienced Transmission Line Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer to join our team in Metairie, Louisiana. As a key member of our Transmission & Distribution Division, you will be responsible for designing and developing electric transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution lines.
Key Responsibilities- Design conceptual routes, layouts, preliminary and detailed designs and specifications for high voltage transmission lines and/or distribution lines
- Plan and profile sheets, staking sheets, bills of materials (BOM), and stringing charts
- Design criteria
- Pole loading drawings, framing drawings, and construction drawings
- Terrain models
- Structure loading calculations
- As-built revisions
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university - Civil or Electrical Engineering Degree strongly preferred
- Civil or Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) License (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
- 3+ years transmission and/or distribution line design experience
- Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD, and MS Excel
- Ability to prioritize work, manage tasks for multiple projects under budget and time constraints
- High level of personal initiative and the ability to interact with personnel, clients, and contractors
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and must be proficient on the computer
- Passionate and curious about all aspects of technology
- Possess intellectual inquisitiveness and demonstrate strong judgement in the face of ambiguity
- Strong imagination and ability to bridge creative and technical conversations
- Experience with PLS-TOWER
- Familiar with CPUC GO-95 & 131-D
- Familiar with industry codes and standards and have experience as the technical lead on projects
- Master's in Structural Engineering
