Sovah Health is seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Patient Access Coordinator II. This position involves performing essential receptionist, registration, and administrative tasks related to both direct and scheduled patient admissions. The ideal candidate will warmly welcome patients, gather necessary demographic and financial details, secure required signatures, and process payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate collection of all required demographic, billing, and clinical information into the registration system.
- Distribute relevant forms, documents, and educational materials to patients and their families.
- Engage with patients and caregivers to exchange vital information and documentation, providing clarity on processes and addressing any concerns.
- Communicate effectively with the admitting physician's office, nursing staff, and other relevant personnel to facilitate patient admissions.
- Schedule appointments and relay any changes in scheduling to the appropriate departments and colleagues.
- Verify insurance benefits and confirm necessary authorizations or pre-certifications.
- Review physician orders for completeness and compliance, ensuring all forms and records are accurate.
- Conduct cost estimations, manage upfront collections, process payments, establish payment plans, and assess patients' ability to pay, escalating issues as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of CPT & ICD10 codes, along with familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Payers.
- Proficient typing skills (30 WPM) with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Medium-level critical thinking skills.
- Cross-trained in multiple areas of Patient Access and adaptable to departmental needs, including potential assignments in the Emergency Department.
- Ability to assess applicable CPT & HCPCS codes and confirm necessary authorizations.
- Flexibility in scheduling, with the capacity to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care.
Experience: One to two years of customer service and/or healthcare experience is preferred.
