POSITION SUMMARY

Blue Cliff College is in search of an Esthetics Education Specialist. This position involves delivering comprehensive instruction in the principles and practices of esthetics. Responsibilities encompass the application of cosmetic products, body therapies, hydrotherapy, and various skin care techniques. The role also includes performing facial treatments, body grooming, makeup application, and hair removal services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement performance-based objectives and course outlines in alignment with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Design a curriculum that includes practical demonstrations and theoretical lectures pertinent to the esthetics field.
  • Prepare instructional materials and outlines for courses, ensuring they meet educational standards.
  • Guide students in the safe and effective use of esthetics tools and equipment, while adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Emphasize the significance of precision, professionalism, and effective work habits essential for success in the esthetics industry.
  • Assign and evaluate student assignments, tests, and practical skills assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, reporting findings to relevant academic personnel.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods, including lectures and hands-on demonstrations, to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Provide individualized support to students, facilitating study groups and addressing inquiries to reinforce learning.
  • Uphold classroom standards and manage student behavior effectively.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Submit a detailed syllabus for each course to the appropriate academic authority.
  • Conduct evaluations of courses and contribute to institutional assessment processes.
  • Propose enhancements to the curriculum in alignment with educational objectives.
  • Engage in annual performance reviews and goal-setting discussions with academic leadership.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Cosmetology/Esthetician license issued by the relevant state authority.
  • Instructor's License in Cosmetology/Esthetics is mandatory.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience as a licensed cosmetologist/esthetician is required.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in facials, hair removal, makeup application, and nail care is essential.
  • Ability to articulate and implement educational policies and procedures.
  • Basic mathematical skills are necessary for instructional purposes.
  • Familiarity with educational assessment techniques is advantageous.
  • Competence in using standard office equipment and technology.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong instructional abilities and sound judgment in program development.
  • Capability to supervise and mentor staff, while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, and the broader community.
  • Commitment to professional integrity and confidentiality.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The compensation for this role ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience. This figure represents the base salary and does not encompass the complete benefits package associated with the position. Total compensation may vary based on geographic location, skills, education, and experience.
