The Agile Product Manager is a key player who collaborates with Finance, IT, and various business stakeholders to drive the development of capabilities that enhance customer experiences.
The Agile Product Manager oversees the scrum team's delivery of essential Financial Planning capabilities aligned with the strategic roadmap, ensuring that feature definitions are clear and that the team remains focused on high-priority deliverables.
This role is also responsible for operational readiness, mobilizing the necessary resources to prepare the business for the effective adoption and support of new capabilities prior to their launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of business cases and cost-benefit analyses within the product scope
- Ensure alignment of the IT delivery roadmap with the strategic annual product roadmap
- Communicate opportunities to the business and execute the product roadmap
- Establish product and adoption KPIs in collaboration with business partners and derive metrics for development and delivery activities
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant client personas and engage with internal and external clients to validate assumptions while articulating client needs to the Agile Team.
- Continuously represent client feedback to influence prioritization, trade-offs, and roadmap decisions
- Build and maintain a prioritized product backlog
- Ensure the backlog reflects the technical work necessary for long-term integrity.
- Create and manage product backlog items, including acceptance criteria (Features, User Stories)
- Actively engage with methodologies relevant to the product area, such as Customer Journey, Agile Methodologies, and Program Execution Frameworks.
- Utilize tools and techniques to gather client insights and feedback, including focus groups, surveys, usability sessions, and interviews.
- Maintain tactical agile techniques related to work decomposition, planning, estimation, backlog management, and status reporting.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technology advancements, and market developments.
- Participate in Product Owner forums to share best practices.
- Ensure operational readiness for new technology-driven capabilities as they transition to production environments.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to design digital adoption strategies.
- Monitor benefit realization for solutions that have been deployed, tracking KPIs and incorporating feedback into future product backlog enhancements.
- Use backlog management software to provide metrics and status updates on deployment progress.
- Track the progress of work against established timelines to ensure the overall health of the delivery roadmap, adjusting and communicating changes as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record in successfully delivering technical projects.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence and challenge the status quo to create competitive advantages.
- Solid understanding of the product management lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Technical acumen to collaborate effectively with architects, designers, and development teams.
- Experience in developing digital technology roadmaps and understanding technical requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a history of engaging customers and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
- Creative problem solver who can articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Some experience in negotiation and persuasion.
- High levels of ownership and accountability; self-starter capable of navigating ambiguity.
- Ability to champion change and support teams through transitions.
- Capable of coaching and mentoring team members, identifying skill gaps for continuous improvement.
