Job Overview

Position: Cost Control / Accounting Administrator

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Role Summary

The Cost Control Administrator plays a vital role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects. This position is tasked with overseeing contractor invoicing, processing payments, and ensuring that all documentation aligns with the company's objectives and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain project cost records within the Cost Control system.
  • Handle monthly contractor invoicing and payment processing (Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable).
  • Collaborate with project teams to streamline the payment process from initiation to completion.
  • Maintain an organized billing calendar.
  • Ensure contractor insurance documentation is current and accurate.
  • Manage multiple construction projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Cost Control Software System.
  • Propose enhancements to processes and systems.
  • Ensure precision in financial data and initiate corrective measures as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships with all members of the project team.
  • Manage contractor billing using the AIA billing system for General Contracting projects when applicable.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in accounting.
  • Experience in construction accounting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Accurate data entry skills with a keen eye for numerical discrepancies.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and adaptable.
  • Demonstrated success in completing cost control projects that meet specified objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including financial formulas and spreadsheet creation.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize web-based accounting software.
