Position Overview:

The Project Area Manager (PAM) is tasked with overseeing a designated section of the construction project. The PAM is accountable for setting and accomplishing project objectives concerning all aspects of field management, including timelines, financials, safety protocols, quality assurance, and personnel development. Typically, the PAM will lead field engineers to support them in ensuring safety compliance, supervising craft activities, managing production, coordinating with trade partners, scheduling, handling materials, preparing daily reports, maintaining quality control, and providing craft training. This role is considered safety-sensitive. A background in managing or engineering projects related to water, such as water treatment facilities, wastewater systems, or hydraulic infrastructures, along with knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices for water projects, is crucial.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management. At least 5-6 years of experience in large-scale commercial construction projects. A valid driver's license. Excellent communication abilities. Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Prolog, Primavera, and the AutoDesk Suite. Skilled in construction layout, blueprint interpretation, and shop drawing analysis. Experience in managing or engineering water-related projects, such as water treatment facilities, wastewater management, or hydraulic infrastructures, with familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 10 Certification. CPR & First Aid Certification.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee, mentor, and coordinate the workforce within their designated area. Manage field construction activities through effective organization and planning, fostering collaborative relationships with trade partners. Engage in weekly scheduling and management meetings with trade partners. Advocate for and enforce the site-specific safety plan and sound safety practices within their area. Collaborate with foremen to create Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Safety Task Analyses (STAs) for all self-performed work. Review AHAs for trade partners. Contribute to project scheduling and maintain the four-week schedule for their area to ensure timely project completion. Maintain accurate records of costs and production. Assist in developing material handling and site utilization plans for their area. Collaborate with project engineers and office engineers regarding material requirements, Requests for Information (RFIs), etc. Ensure proper inspection of received materials for quantity and quality, and that receiving tickets are correctly signed and submitted to the jobsite administrator. Take charge of quality control on the project, establishing high standards for both the company and trade partners. Manage the punch list process to guarantee owner acceptance at project completion. Cultivate and sustain relationships with the owner, architect, engineer, and trade partners to ensure the highest quality and customer service. Participate in project coordination meetings to maintain engagement in pre-planning and scheduling activities. Assist BIM and VDC engineers in resolving issues to keep the submittal process on track.
