Job Summary

Ameris Bank is seeking a highly skilled SEC Reporting Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our financial reporting team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing SEC filings, maintaining supporting documentation, and coordinating with external auditors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation, review, and filing of SEC filings, including 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K reports
  • Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for external financial statements and SEC filings
  • Coordinate with external auditors on annual audits, quarterly reviews, and special projects
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of SEC and FASB accounting and reporting initiatives
  • Assist with review, analysis, and documentation of transactions and issues requiring FASB and SEC research
  • Document company accounting and financial reporting policies
  • Assist with special SEC filings related to mergers and acquisitions, accounting for business combinations, and integration of business combinations
  • Review and approve financial information prepared by others for external financial statements and SEC filings
  • Conduct technical accounting research and provide recommendations to management on the application of new accounting guidance and existing accounting guidance to significant or unusual transactions
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with US GAAP financial reporting for a public company
  • Strong technical GAAP and SEC accounting research skills
  • Intermediate XBRL skills and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and key internal controls within financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Competent in Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or financial reporting with a public company (or combination of both)
  • Financial services industry experience a plus
