Position Overview:

The Electrical Project Coordinator is tasked with developing cost assessments and overseeing the operational aspects of various commercial and industrial electrical construction initiatives.

Company Background:

Founded in 1920, E.S. Boulos Company, a division of MYR Group Inc, has delivered extensive electrical construction solutions to clients across the eastern United States.

E.S. Boulos operates through two primary divisions, specializing in both power line construction and commercial/industrial electrical services, positioning itself as a comprehensive electrical contractor. The powerline construction division offers a full spectrum of services related to transmission, distribution, and substation construction. This role is primarily office-based, with necessary site visits.

The individual in this position may occasionally travel (less than 10 days per year) using various modes of transportation and will be provided with a company vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project construction timelines.
  • Submit Requests for Information to clients.
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned projects.
  • Serve as the primary contact for project stakeholders.
  • Organize meetings, update schedules, submit deliverables, and address outstanding issues as required by clients.
  • Prepare look-ahead documents along with weekly and monthly progress reports and billing details.
  • Monitor job costs against budgets and report findings to the management team.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates (labor and materials) for commercial and industrial projects within established timelines.
  • Conduct field evaluations for estimate preparation.
  • Engage in the estimate review process with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compile bills of materials and other necessary information for purchasing.
  • Schedule and conduct field walk-downs with clients, subcontractors, and construction teams to assess constructability requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency across various project documents.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting change orders.
  • Collaborate closely with project management.
  • Support construction teams throughout the project lifecycle in understanding and tracking cost estimates.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Project Coordinator I: Minimum of 3 years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical sector; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Project Coordinator II: Over 5 years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical sector; Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with specifications, proposals, and documentation for preparing time/cost/labor estimates.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) and relevant local regulations.
  • Ability to interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans and specifications, including blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and estimating software such as Accubid or equivalent.
  • Capable of creating construction schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external partners.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to focus on tasks for extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $76,000-$110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The company reserves the right to adjust salary ranges based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
