Job Overview

As a Quality Assurance Engineer at ConMet's Monroe Facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality. If you possess experience as a certified lead auditor and hold certifications in automotive quality management systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001, along with proficiency in manual gauges, CMM, and Calypso programming, you may find this position aligns with your expertise.

This position involves coordinating quality assurance initiatives focused on product excellence. Key responsibilities include conducting product and process audits, engaging in new product development teams, and managing customer communications to address quality concerns. You will also lead problem-solving efforts utilizing the eight disciplines (8D) methodology for corrective actions.

This role requires a presence in both the manufacturing and office environments at ConMet's Monroe Facility. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist production teams in establishing processes that minimize defects.
  • Collaborate with customers to address and manage quality-related issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and disseminate Quality Documentation.
  • Implement and oversee Process Audits within production areas.
  • Conduct Layered Process Audits to ensure adherence to process controls.
  • Coordinate laboratory and inspection activities.
  • Support other departments in root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • Execute special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Define quality requirements for new projects.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 standards and assist with audits.
  • Provide technical support to production and sales teams.
  • Identify and acquire necessary testing equipment.
  • Engage in hands-on inspection and data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a preference for manufacturing, assembly, and automotive backgrounds.
  • Experience with Calypso programming is advantageous.
