NIHAO Chinese is a Mandarin Immersion Learning Program dedicated to fostering community and enhancing overall wellbeing for learners of all ages. We engage with children aged 2-17 through various educational settings, including onsite preschools, after-school initiatives, partnerships with school districts, and online courses, all aimed at nurturing a passion for learning and supporting Chinese language acquisition at every stage.

Founded in 2012, NIHAO has expanded from a modest group of fewer than 20 students to a thriving community of over 2,000 learners participating in our language programs. We are thrilled to welcome a new Preschool Coordinator to our dedicated team.

Our NIHAO Team employs a distinctive educational approach that blends a comprehensive curriculum encompassing language vocabulary, exploration, sensory integration, and project-based learning. This methodology empowers young learners to take charge of their educational journeys.

About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic educator or aspiring educator passionate about working with young children? NIHAO Chinese, a well-respected language learning program, is in search of dedicated educators to enrich our team. With multiple locations across Southern California and a diverse student body ranging from preschool to AP Chinese, we offer numerous opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist children with classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to support students from various language backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Manage small groups of students and guide them in engaging activities.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to ensure positive educational experiences for children.
  • Support teachers with classroom maintenance, including diaper changes and potty training assistance.
  • Develop and implement mini-lessons that align with the main curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school staff through various channels, including educational software.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators and curriculum specialists, sharing insights and providing constructive feedback.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 ECE units or willingness to pursue relevant coursework.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to evaluate and address challenges when working with young children.
  • Familiarity with educational software and Google Suite is advantageous.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, balancing responsibilities with children and other tasks.
  • Preference for candidates with at least 1 year of experience in a preschool environment.
