Role Overview: The Paraeducator in this position will perform a variety of instructional tasks to support teaching staff across Lower, Middle, Upper School, or Personal Milestones programs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Teacher with lesson and classroom preparation, as well as the reinforcement of lessons.
  • Support with lunch, snack, and cleanup duties.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to develop special strategies for reinforcing material or skills, tailored to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Plan, prepare, and create various teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
  • Present subject matter to students using diverse methods and techniques, including discussions and supervised role-playing.
  • Guide independent study, enrichment, or remedial work as assigned by the teacher.
  • Lead and facilitate various forms of oral communication with students, including reading aloud and listening to students read.
  • Maintain regular communication with the teacher regarding any issues or special information concerning individual students.
  • Assist students, both individually and in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce concepts.
  • Support the Teacher with record-keeping tasks.
  • Administer exams and tests as directed by the teacher.
  • Score and record baseline testing, student inventories, and coursework under the supervision of the teacher.
  • If assigned as a 1:1 paraprofessional, accurately complete and submit the 1:1 attendance form for teacher review.
  • Complete and submit incident reports within 24 hours.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, lunch periods, field trips, morning arrivals, and school dismissals.
  • Participate in school training sessions, including weekly and August in-service trainings.
