Role SummaryThe Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager will oversee the daily operations of the SOC, ensuring effective management of security analysts and engineers. This position requires a strong technical background and leadership skills to facilitate discussions regarding security incidents and best practices with both technical teams and management.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and evaluate the quality of services delivered by the SOC.
- Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring effective scheduling and performance reviews.
- Act as a liaison between the SOC team and the client's technical management.
- Assist in developing and executing security action plans, ensuring compliance with productivity and quality standards.
- Document and escalate security incidents, providing detailed reports on their status and potential impact.
- Conduct trend analysis and reporting on cyber defense activities.
- Review and approve operational procedures for SOC staff.
- Mentor and train junior analysts and engineers as required.
- Provide strategic cybersecurity recommendations based on identified threats.
- Monitor compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) for the SOC.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology or Information Security, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within a SOC.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information to diverse audiences.
- Expertise in security tools and methodologies relevant to SOC operations.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are mandatory.
- Ability to analyze and interpret network security data and trends.
Continuous learning and professional development are encouraged, with opportunities to maintain and enhance certifications and skills in cybersecurity.
