Job Title: Director of Development, Cardiovascular Health and Surgery

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Director of Development to lead the fundraising efforts for the Cardiovascular Health and Surgery program at Stanford University. This is a unique opportunity to join a world-renowned institution and contribute to the advancement of cardiovascular health and surgery research and education.

About the Role:

The Director of Development will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the Cardiovascular Health and Surgery program. This will involve building relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and donors, to identify and secure funding opportunities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of fundraising success and experience working in a higher education or healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the Cardiovascular Health and Surgery program
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and donors
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities to support the program
  • Collaborate with academic leaders and faculty to develop proposals for transformative gifts
  • Manage a team of development staff to achieve fundraising goals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience in fundraising or a related field
  • Proven track record of fundraising success
  • Experience working in a higher education or healthcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
