Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to join our team at the City of Murfreesboro TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating daily operations, programs, and activities within the Recreation Department facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operation of the facility, providing expertise specific to programming and function.
  • Supervise staff, determine staffing needs, make schedules and assignments, monitor performance and effectiveness.
  • Interact with patrons to provide a positive customer experience, provide accurate information regarding activities and services.
  • Deliver specialty services, specific to the goals of assigned area, and lead and participate in the success of the program as a whole.
  • Monitor the assigned facility and participants, check facility for safety, maintenance, and program needs, and take action to ensure operational function.
  • Observe and enforce the rules and procedures of the assigned area for the safety and welfare of the staff and participants.
  • Operate a computer with facility management software, process registrations and admissions, balance cash drawer, prepare bank deposits, collect funds, issue receipts, and record transactions.
  • Order supplies and equipment for programs and activities, maintain accurate records, reports, inventories, and schedules.
  • Respond to emergency calls to address issues at the facility, such as responding to alarms and situations with patrons or staff.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle to pick up supplies, make bank deposits, and similar.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or related field is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in facility programming, recreation management, or closely related is required.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule with some weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
