Veterinary Technician Supervisor

About the Role
The San Francisco SPCA Hospital is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Veterinary Technician Supervisor.
This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital, while also actively participating in direct patient care as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and their guardians.
Responsibilities
- Orchestrate the flow of the day, ensuring efficient operations and optimal patient care.
- Collaborate with co-supervisors, doctors, and client service team to deliver exceptional patient and client care.
- Maintain exceptional client services and provide support to clients as needed.
- Utilize strong skills in emergency, urgent care, and general practice to deliver high-quality veterinary care.
- Serve as a mentor to assigned veterinary assistants and RVT's, providing training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Actively participate in problem-solving, critical thinking, and promoting a positive work culture.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and prioritize the overall success and culture of the hospital.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- At least one year of experience in supervising a team in a veterinary hospital setting.
- Exceptional client service skills with a focus on building strong relationships.
- Proficient in emergency, urgent care, and general practice veterinary procedures.
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
- Ability to problem-solve, think critically, and make informed decisions.
- Experience with training, mentoring, and coaching veterinary staff is highly valued.
- Bilingual Spanish, Cantonese and/or Mandarin highly preferred.
