Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histology Team Lead to join our team at Inotiv, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and guiding the Histology Department, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring the highest quality of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely quality control of routine and special stained slides, including reconciliation of slides and blocks, completion of documentation, and updating study status in Smartsheets.
  • Support and assist RA's with sample check-in and reconciliation, including performing second reviews of sample check-in documentation and providing accurate descriptions of tissue receipt and condition.
  • Participate in morning lead/manager meetups, confirm/update Smartsheets, and actively participate in meetings by offering assignments and suggestions.
  • Assign/find work for technicians outside of weekly meetings, ensure they are filling out training documentation, and provide support with special staining, trimming, embedding, microtomy, and other tasks.
  • Ensure all lab maintenance documentation and logs are properly filled out, and be a supportive resource for other coworkers within the Inotiv organization.
Requirements
  • Be prompt and prepared for work each day with a positive attitude, be flexible and accommodate daily changes in workflow and priorities.
  • Hours are between 7-8 am and 3-4 pm with slight flexibility as needed, 10 hr. shifts may be discussed.
  • Be self-motivated and take initiative to learn new tasks and responsibilities, supporting the Management team and being involved in daily operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, build professional relationships, and communicate information about issues regarding workflow.

  • Set personal leadership goals for personal and professional growth, assist management in setting department goals, and send weekly emails with personal accomplishments and status of ongoing tasks and projects.
Future Goals
  • Lead the Monday meetings independently with minimal oversight from the management team, order supplies within the Histo Department, and work on project bucket and study design review.
