Research Technician Team Lead

Job Summary
The Laboratory Animal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the training and support of the research technician team at Inotiv. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to ensure the team is properly trained and following approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs for research technicians to ensure they are proficient in laboratory animal care and handling.
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of research technicians to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with study coordinators to plan and schedule technician workloads to meet study needs.
- Maintain accurate records of technician training and performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including hazardous waste management and environmental health monitoring.
- Lead weekly meetings with research technicians to discuss study activity assignments and provide feedback.
- Communicate effectively with study coordinators, principal investigators, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
- Participate in research activities as needed to support the team.
- Report any concerns or issues related to animal care and use to management.
- Accurately follow study protocols and report any deviations to management and principal investigators.
- Conduct work in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining a cooperative and communicative attitude.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Enter and review data accurately into study spreadsheets.
- Respond to direction from management and communicate with management if unable to meet expectations or need assistance with priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (biology or equivalent) with 3 years of direct laboratory animal work experience, or associate degree with 5 years of direct laboratory animal work experience, or 8 years of direct laboratory animal work experience without a college science degree, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Preferred experience with animal laboratory research, including dosing, in-life sample collections, and necropsy collections.
- Preferred experience with animal laboratory management.
Benefits
Inotiv offers a competitive salary range of $60,000-$72,000 per year, commensurate with experience and responsibilities. Benefits include health and dental coverage, short- and long-term disability, paid time off, paid parental leave, 401K, and more.
