Job Responsibilities:
We are in search of a skilled and experienced Project Superintendent to manage, organize, and oversee both field and administrative functions for our wastewater projects. In this role, you will provide technical guidance, ensuring safety, cost efficiency, productivity, profitability, and overall quality of work, including self-performed tasks. Your responsibilities will include setting productivity goals, assessing performance, managing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities, and potentially supervising field superintendents. This position features progressive levels based on skills and experience:
Project Superintendent I: Manages less complex projects up to $20 million with approximately 3-5 years of experience.
Project Superintendent II: Oversees medium-scale projects ranging from $20 million to $50 million, requiring around 5-10 years of experience.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to review shop drawings, submittals, subcontract change orders, and purchase orders.
- Work with the Project Manager to develop the project management plan (PMP), covering scope, procurement, environment, time, finances, quality, safety, and risk.
- Lead weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subcontractors, while preparing daily field status reports.
- Document constructability concerns, potential design conflicts, and clarifications with relevant personnel.
- Develop and manage the construction plan for effective project execution.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, driving profitability.
- Build positive relationships with clients, teams, and stakeholders to foster a successful project environment.
- Oversee field operations, ensuring project success in safety, schedule adherence, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
- Maintain and update the original CPM Project Schedule, incorporating LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
- Identify, prevent, and manage claims, taking timely actions to mitigate their impact.
- Provide leadership to project team members and subcontractors, ensuring effective project execution.
- Develop and implement Project Quality Management and Safety plans, aligning with standards within the project management plan (PMP).
- Ensure timely completion of punch lists, facilitating system startup and commissioning as per owner requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- A four-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
- Comprehensive construction knowledge, including technology, equipment, methods, negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.
- Relevant project supervision experience in similar facility types.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Regular reaching above shoulder heights and below the waist.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending.
- Limited use of electronic devices for communication.
- Adherence to safety standards and procedures.
- Occasional climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, lifting, handling, carrying, or feeling objects.
- Regular interactions with individuals throughout shifts.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects.
