Job Description

Cooperative Federal is a credit union dedicated to community development, economic empowerment, and social justice. We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Audit Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement an internal audit plan to ensure the credit union's internal control system is effective.
  • Perform ongoing reviews of the credit union's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate the administration of the Bank Secrecy Act compliance program.
  • Monitor and maintain Currency Transaction Reporting, Monetary Instruments Log, and OFAC Compliance.
  • Review computer reports and teller cash records for suspicious activity.
  • Match database of members against FinCen list and report any matches as required.
  • Handle Financial Institution Data Match and Tax Match.
  • Conduct regular audit procedures and activities for operations and loan procedures.
  • Track and report on issues or recommendations from external auditors, regulators, and examiners.
  • Serve as a staff liaison to the Supervisory Committee and provide requested reports.
Requirements
  • Commitment to the mission of Cooperative Federal.
  • Two or more years of professional experience in financial services, banking, legal services, audit services, or accounting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural competency and ability to thrive in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Requirements

The Operations Compliance and Audit Specialist is often required to sit, stand, walk, conduct phone interviews, and use their hands and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.
