Role Summary and Qualifications

The Sepsis Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and ensuring adherence to sepsis management protocols. This role collaborates with medical staff to provide comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with sepsis. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting daily reviews of positive sepsis screens and collaborating with nursing and medical teams.
  • Leading initiatives to ensure timely and effective treatment for sepsis patients.
  • Facilitating teamwork and problem-solving among multidisciplinary groups.
  • Educating staff on sepsis protocols and conducting training sessions.
  • Collecting and analyzing patient data to enhance clinical care and outcomes.
  • Participating in performance improvement initiatives to ensure continuous quality enhancement.
  • Maintaining cultural sensitivity and promoting a supportive work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays and weekend shifts.
  • Demonstrates accountability in initiating early goal-directed therapy.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to nursing staff on sepsis management.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Actively participates in departmental meetings and stays informed on relevant updates.

Position Requirements

· Current licensure with the TN Board of Nursing;

· BSN required; Master's preferred

· 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred

· Proficient in using computer applications for data management

· BCLS and ACLS certifications required
