Position Overview

The Operations Specialist will oversee the management of our Agronomy Business Unit. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our Chemical Shed.

Agriculture plays a pivotal role in our economy, and this position is vital for supporting our operations in this sector. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various departments, including Operations, Grain, and Agronomy, to manage daily activities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the efficient management and coordination of the Chemical Shed.
  • Assist agronomists and applicators in preparing specified quantities of liquid and dry chemicals and fertilizers for clients.
  • Handle the mixing, loading, and transferring of liquid nitrogen and other bulk chemicals onto tender trucks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including documenting chemical stock levels and generating Blend Tickets.
  • Support Operations Departments with warehouse tasks, elevator operations, and truck weighing, while also having opportunities to assist with seed operations and maintenance duties.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the agricultural sector is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure we deliver exceptional service to our clients.
  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred, though not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Physical stamina to sit, stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to work in varying Nebraska climates and environments, including exposure to grain dust and chemicals.
  • Strong proficiency in English, mathematics, and communication is necessary for success in this diverse role.
  • Commitment to safety is paramount, with personal protective equipment provided and required in designated areas.
  • A CDL license is preferred but not mandatory; assistance will be offered to obtain one if necessary.
  • This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits, including retirement and 401K options.
