PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Feed Mill Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and functionality within the work environment. This role includes managing visitor and vendor interactions, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and assisting with the receipt of feed materials. The associate is also expected to support emergency protocols as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Execute daily cleaning and maintenance tasks within the Feed Mill and its surroundings. Regulate access for personnel, visitors, and delivery vehicles to guarantee that only authorized individuals are permitted entry; verify visitor credentials and secure necessary approvals. Monitor and document inspection records for incoming and outgoing vehicles, guide traffic, and coordinate routes with relevant staff while trucks are on-site, ensuring proper routing based on cargo type. Understand and apply basic principles of animal food safety and personal hygiene to protect animal feed quality. Conduct all duties in accordance with company policies, Animal Welfare standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Alert supervisors to any suspected Quality or Food Safety incidents. Perform routine cleaning of Feed Mill facilities and grounds. As needed, inspect and document the condition of Feed Mill equipment during off-peak hours to ensure proper operation. Report any discrepancies or issues related to logs, vehicles, etc., to the appropriate personnel as they arise. Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment to foster a Zero-Accident culture. Assist in implementing emergency procedures as required. Support the receiving process of feed ingredients when necessary. Undertake additional relevant tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

None. This position operates independently and requires competencies such as Functional/Technical Skills, Action Orientation, Problem Solving, Quick Learning, and Interpersonal Skills.

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Ability to accurately complete necessary logs and documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels, attention to detail, and efficient problem resolution capabilities. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Capability to follow detailed processes accurately. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Adhere to departmental and company safety policies and programs. Utilize required protective equipment in all designated areas (hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, mask, safety vest). Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection may occur.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to climb a 125-foot ladder and work at heights of at least 40 feet. Ability to work non-standard shifts (holidays, weekends, and/or extended hours) as business needs dictate. Capability to stand and move for extended periods during shifts. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, dry, and/or wet). Ability to work in dusty and noisy environments. Must be able to occasionally lift weights ranging from 60 to 100 pounds. Ability to work in low and awkward positions as required.
