Position Overview:
As a key member of the Engineering and Project Coordination team, you will be instrumental in the initial engineering phases of innovative projects. Your role will also encompass significant support for the sales division in the technical formulation of tailored solutions and proposals. You will be tasked with providing solution designs that align with Neoceram Avanti's technical capabilities and performance objectives, while ensuring that technical decisions are both time-efficient and cost-effective. Additionally, you will collaborate with the purchasing department and Neoceram's design office to source appropriate components for various projects. All models will be developed utilizing SolidWorks software. Depending on project requirements, occasional travel may be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a range of manual measuring instruments.
- Create draft 3D models of diverse solutions in accordance with Neoceram Avanti's best practices, based on various measurements and available reference materials.
- Develop technical and fabrication drawings in collaboration with the headquarters design office.
- Visualize and illustrate concepts or designs in both 2D and 3D formats.
- Coordinate with the US sales team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project scope.
- Assist in conceptualizing solutions for project quotations.
- Select suitable solutions based on equipment specifications.
- Support the preparation of preliminary engineering drafts and cost estimates for project quotation development.
- Assist the US team in managing projects from conception through to final assembly testing and delivery.
- Maintain and support the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all designs.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential: including 3D modeling, 2D drawing, and BOM management.
- Understanding of fluid dynamics principles.
- Basic knowledge of materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and gaskets.
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical automation principles and control systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly BOM structures.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and an understanding of Gantt charts and flow diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of measurement principles and hand measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, protractors) as well as fundamentals of Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Desirable Attributes:
- A genuine interest in mechanics and assembly processes.
- Proficiency in Italian and French is considered a valuable asset.
- Additional computer skills are advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of measurement systems and technologies.
