Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to support our General Manager in managing the daily operations and executing service in our restaurant and golf operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the selection, development, and performance management of employees, as well as ensuring that guests are satisfied with their dining and golf experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support General Manager in ensuring that the restaurant and golf operations meet service, sales, and profit objectives.
  • Supervise and direct staff in daily work activities.
  • Run shifts, assist with service as needed, and create a positive, productive, and fun work environment.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs.
  • Provide direction and training to ensure that guest expectations are exceeded and each shift achieves its business goals.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas, responding to complaints in a timely manner.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Assist with scheduling, financial administration, and personnel/payroll-related duties.
  • Oversee retail and manage merchandise controls.
  • Enforce sanitary practices and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
Requirements
  • A college degree is preferred, with a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management being desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of restaurant management/supervision experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Outlook Calendar.
  • Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability, and outgoing personality.
  • Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure high-quality food and service.
  • Ability to identify weaknesses and provide feedback and coaching where necessary.
  • Good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and recommend solutions to restaurant problems.
