Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Emergency Department team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation, under the direction of a physician.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy, communicating with the physician and healthcare team.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of WakeMed in the management of patient care.
Requirements:
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with a preference for experience in emergency/trauma care.
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- NC Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire.
Work Schedule: 7am-7pm, with weekend and call requirements as needed.
