Job Summary

RMH Systems Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Heavy Capacity Scale Technician. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and installing industrial scales in various settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on industrial scales in manufacturing settings, floor scales, and truck scales at customer sites.
  • Drive the Test truck (CDL required) as needed, and handle large-scale projects that require weights that can only be transported by the test truck.
  • Work as part of a cohesive team within the shop to meet customer needs, including assisting, mentoring, or sharing knowledge with other technicians in the shop as appropriate.
  • Perform emergency repair to malfunctioning equipment at customer site.
  • Involved in equipment installations, as needed.
  • Complete annual inspection programs for customers.
  • One-on-one customer interaction - Maintain communication with the customer and answer questions relative to the work being performed. Make recommendations for additional work that needs to be completed.
  • Work with inside sales to order replacement parts, as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing products and pursue additional technical and product knowledge by actively participating in the training programs. This includes manufacturer training and on-the-job training.
  • Complete service report explaining the reason for the call, equipment info, and what work was performed. Tech will also complete any other required paperwork based on state regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of Mechanical experience required. Electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment following technical manuals and diagnostic procedures.
  • Must attain State Scale Technician License within first 6 months.
  • Valid Driver's/Chauffeurs License required, and be eligible to drive per respective state law based on office location.
  • CDL required, or must obtain within first 6 months of employment. Must register with the Clearing House upon attaining CDL or upon hire.
  • Safety-oriented attitude required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to operate diagnostic software.
  • This position requires 10-20% overnight travel as needed.
