Overview

The Loin Room Operations Manager is tasked with providing leadership and guidance to the loin room team, ensuring the efficient and timely production of goods. This role carries the authority to make daily operational decisions based on established guidelines and protocols. The Loin Room Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of loin room personnel to meet production and quality benchmarks safely, while fostering positive workplace relationships within the team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, assess, and take responsibility for operational and capital budgets to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
  • Ensure that all operational plans are executed to meet yield, productivity, line efficiency, customer satisfaction, and quality indicators.
  • Implement strategies to minimize employee turnover, enhance safety outcomes as indicated by the Safety Scorecard, and cultivate an environment that positions the facility as the Employer of Choice in the region.
  • Establish ongoing training programs to enhance the supervisory capabilities of staff and improve the skill sets of hourly production workers to maximize both individual and team performance.
  • Continuously seek innovative ideas and methods to boost operational efficiency and enhance product quality and customer reliability.
  • Support and advocate for the company's annual objectives regarding People, Products, and Profitability through effective planning and communication, emphasizing the importance of efficiency and effectiveness among all team members.
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and achieve results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing protocols and processes.
  • Capable of analyzing and resolving issues as they arise.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

1) May require the movement of light equipment or supplies.

2) May involve accessing files, supplies, and equipment.

3) In a plant setting:
  • Exposure to wet and moist surfaces, including metal and plastic grating.
  • Possible exposure to temperatures ranging from 28 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with high humidity.
  • Handling of products at temperatures between 25 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Exposure to noise levels between 50 db and 110 db.
  • Exposure to all chemicals utilized in pork and food processing.
  • Mandatory use of protective and safety equipment as directed by the company.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Physical activities may include bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping, varying in intensity and duration based on the specific tasks performed.
