Job Title: Cocktail Server

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cocktail Server to join our team at Loews Philadelphia Hotel. As a Cocktail Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current knowledge of all menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Set up assigned station with all required supplies, "Mis en Place".
  • Greet guests in a polite and professional manner, according to Loews standards.
  • Suggestively sell menu items to guests to enhance the dining experience.
  • Record all aspects of guests' orders accurately and enter guest orders into the POS terminal.
  • Coordinate the placement of orders to ensure the timing of preparation and delivery flows consistently throughout the entire meal.
  • Monitor the preparation of individual courses to ensure proper flow.
  • Inspect the presentation of all food items to ensure a quality product is delivered to the guests as ordered.
  • Serve all food and beverage items professionally, according to Loews standards.
  • Monitor guests at all times, anticipate their needs, respond to requests, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present accurate, complete guest checks.
  • Collect monies due and/or apply charges to the guest account using the POS terminal.
  • Complete the end-of-shift revenue report and cash deposit.
  • Perform all side work duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Promote and apply teamwork skills at all times.
  • Notify the appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance.
  • Be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow team members.
  • Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Comply with required safety regulations and procedures.
  • Attend appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area.
  • Comply with hotel standards, policies, and rules.
  • Recycle whenever possible.
  • Remain current with hotel information and changes.
  • Comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One+ years of experience as a Food Server in a high-volume, upscale hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of food terminology, food service techniques, and sanitation standards.
  • Exceptional guest service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and lift trays weighing up to 35 pounds repetitively during the entire shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
