Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Combat Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Portsmouth, NH team, you will be responsible for providing technical evaluation and performing corrective actions for Submarine Combat systems casualties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Evaluation and Corrective Actions: Provide technical evaluation and perform corrective actions for Submarine Combat systems casualties in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual and all other applicable Navy Maintenance Procedures.
  • Technical Assistance Visits: Draft Technical Assistance Visit reports upon completion of corrective actions.
  • System Installation and Testing: Assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation, and testing of the combat control systems on-board all classes of submarines.
  • Engineering Support: Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks, including installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Must have a strong understanding of Submarine Combat systems and experience with network configuration and BYG-1 combat control system.
  • Education and Experience: Five (5) years of practical experience and High School diploma/GED OR Three (3) years practical experience and an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.
  • Clearance and Travel: Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance and be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with BYG-1 Combat Control System: Experience with network configuration and BYG-1 combat control system is preferred.
Benefits and Compensation

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act.
