Job Title: Lead Cook

At Brattleboro Food Co-op, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of menu items, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with the Food Services Manager to ensure smooth kitchen operations, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Train and mentor new team members, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of professional cooking experience, with a strong background in large-scale food service production.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a noisy and dynamic kitchen setting.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
