About the Job

This Lead Plumbing Specialist role with SEPTA is an excellent chance to utilize your technical expertise and work collaboratively with our team to deliver exceptional results. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, inspecting or testing pipes, fittings or fixtures according to specifications or plumbing codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and repair plumbing in street water and sewer connections, ejectors, drain lines, sprinkler pipe, rain conductors, gas and gasoline pipe tanks and equipment, air pipes, lubrication oil pipes.
  • Install pipe and boiler insulation, brass and copper tubing and fittings, and other related equipment.
  • Inspect and test fire equipment, alarm systems, grounds and vehicles.
  • Install and repair brass and copper tubing and related fittings.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and related parts and accessories along with heating, high and low pressure steam and water heating and power units. Additionally, you must be able to create shop drawings, layout work, compile material lists and complete work reports.

You will also need to satisfactorily complete qualifications tests: basic mathematics, blue print reading, and plumbing and hand tools. A valid Philadelphia journeyman's card and a valid driver's license are required. You will be required to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days of transfer.
