Nursing Director RN Job Description

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nursing Director RN to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the health and wellness of our residents, ensuring they receive the highest quality care and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the nursing team to promote the health and wellness of residents
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and services
  • Manage medication care managers to ensure resident safety and well-being
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Recruit, hire, and train clinical team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional care
  • Manage department budgets and ensure compliance with Sunrise policies and internal business controls
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited college or school of nursing with a current state/provincial license as a professional Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum two (2) years RN experience with at least one (1) year experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care environment preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year nursing management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applied nursing practices, techniques, and methods in accordance with federal, state/provincial and board of nursing requirements
  • Ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their demonstrated skill capability and in compliance with all regulations
