Job Title: Plumbing Director

At Tech USA, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing aspects of our business operations, including client management, team management, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain company standards and technical information.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for support staff.
  • Manage project schedules and staffing requirements.
  • Manage client relationships to retain existing clients.
  • Project management from conceptual design phase through construction.
  • Attend meetings with clients and take diligent notes.
  • Attend job site walks to observe existing conditions and construction progress.
  • Basis of design writing.
  • Specification writing.
  • Understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of the following codes & standards:
  • California Mechanical Code
  • California Building Code
  • California Energy Code
  • Californian Green Building Code
  • SDG&E and Utility Standards
  • NFPA 101 & 110
  • ADA Standards for Accessible Design- Code of Regulations (ADA)
  • International Society of plumbing Engineers. (ISPE)
  • Ability to read construction documents.
  • Ability to design plumbing systems including the following:
  • Plumbing equipment sizing including domestic hot water heaters.
  • Drain, waste, and vent piping design.
  • Domestic cold and hot water piping design.
  • Condensate piping design.
  • Natural gas piping design.
  • Roof drain system design.
  • Grease waste and vent piping design.
  • DI system design.
  • RO system design.
  • Compressed air system design.
  • Vacuum system design.
  • Ability to perform Mechanical Engineering Calculations including the following:
  • Hot water loads
  • Water pressure drop
  • Water velocity
  • Provide responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Provide Submittal reviews
  • Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives. Work is reviewed for the application of sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and survey construction sites.
  • And all other tasks assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience in plumbing and mechanical engineering.
  • Licensed to drive in CA.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. The successful candidate will be required to work in an office and field environment, with occasional travel within a 50-mile radius.
