Job Overview:

As the Nursing Director for the Med-Surg and Ortho departments, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care within the Medical and Surgical Units. This role encompasses the overall leadership of clinical operations, human resources, and financial stewardship.

Your primary focus will always be on enhancing patient care quality, fostering customer satisfaction, and nurturing employee relations. This includes attracting and retaining top-tier talent through effective training and mentorship of staff. The Nursing Director position demands exceptional organizational and communication capabilities, clinical expertise, and strong leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in strategic planning processes to meet objectives aligned with our vision and mission.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Home Administrator to maintain accountability for the operational and financial performance of the Nursing Department.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and manage a Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Infection Control program in accordance with regulations.
  • Oversee recruitment, staffing, and retention strategies for the nursing team.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with staff and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff and management to ensure alignment with initiatives and goals.

Qualifications:
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nursing Director.
  • At least 5 years of nursing leadership experience.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
  • Demonstrate exceptional compassion, communication, and critical care skills.
