Job Overview:

As the Nursing Director for the Med-Surg and Ortho units, you will be entrusted with the responsibility for the proficient delivery of compassionate and effective patient care across both Medical and Surgical Units. This role encompasses the overall management of clinical operations, human resources, and financial oversight.

Your primary focus will always be on ensuring high-quality patient care, enhancing customer service, and fostering positive employee relations. This includes attracting and retaining exceptional talent through comprehensive training and mentorship programs. The Nursing Director position necessitates outstanding organizational and communication capabilities, along with strong clinical expertise and leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in strategic planning processes to meet objectives aligned with our vision and mission.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies including DOH and CMS.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) to maintain accountability for the operational and financial success of the Nursing Department.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and manage a Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program in accordance with regulations.
  • Oversee recruitment, staffing, and retention strategies for the nursing team.
  • Maintain open and timely communication with staff and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff and management to monitor progress towards initiatives and goals.

Qualifications:
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nursing Director.
  • At least 5 years of nursing leadership experience.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
  • Demonstrate exceptional compassion, communication, and critical care skills.
