About the Role

This position is responsible for partnering with Donor Program Development and Organ Referral Optimization leadership to investigate, analyze, and drive process improvement. The intent of this position is to understand the particulars of each department's objectives and processes to provide data trends, reporting, and recommendations for improvement.

This position will also partner with the Medical Records Program Administrator to investigate trends found in medical record reviews that identify process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Data Intelligence Supervisor and Donor Program Development leadership to investigate innovations, reporting, and process improvement trends/findings that benefit the hospital program building efforts of the department.
  • Attend relevant Donor Program Development meetings and collaborate as part of the DPD team.
  • Develop reports and visuals for DPD team members that can be used for crucial hospital development leadership meetings.
  • Partner with Donor Program Development team members to investigate strategies to improve individual hospital donor program performance.
  • Under the direction of Data Intelligence Supervisor, brainstorm, develop new visualization content and methods focused on assisting the Donor Program Development team in effectively communicating process and donation outcomes.
  • Provide reporting and analysis, such as hospital trauma reporting and quality reports, for all major Arizona Trauma Centers.
  • Partner with Data Intelligence Supervisor and Organ Referral Optimization leadership to investigate innovations, reporting, and process improvement trends/findings that benefit the department referral monitoring process.
  • Attend relevant Organ Referral Optimization meetings and collaborate as part of the ORO team.
  • Provide reporting and analysis for Organ Referral Optimization leadership.
  • Identify Process improvement opportunities in the organ referral and referral monitoring process that can drive performance improvement.
  • Meet with Organ Referral Optimization leadership team and Data Intelligence Supervisor to identify and trend key performance indicators.
  • Present data at various Organ Referral Optimization meetings focused on storytelling through data, process improvement, and data trends.
  • Identify trends that require improvement and partner with Data Intelligence Supervisor and Organ Referral Optimization leadership to develop referral process improvements.
Organizational Education and Training

Develop and present departmental presentations focused on data trending, organizational goals, and process improvement opportunities. Train Donor Program Development and Referral Optimization Staff on Business Intelligence tool navigation and use.

With support from and in collaboration with the Medical Records Program Administrator, utilize medical record investigative reviews to analyze areas for improvement in Donor Program Development and Organ Referral Optimization.

Participate and support clinical and process improvement research projects as requested by Donor Program Development, Organ Referral Optimization, and Business Intelligence leadership.

Participate in Process Improvement projects, utilizing process improvement tools such as PDSA and DMAIC as requested.

Support department and DNA Leadership as assigned to identify areas to target Process Improvement projects. Serve as primary project analyst for improvement projects related to Donor Program Development and Organ Referral Optimization business operations.

Position Qualifications and Specifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job experience.

Minimum Experience: 2 years background in clinical or medical record assessment.

Minimum Experience: 2 years of intermediate level computer experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/Access/Outlook or equivalent.

Experienced knowledge of Healthcare, and/or Medical Terminology.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher with emphasis on life sciences, pathology coursework or LPN, RN, EMT-P, or other health care certification.

Preferred Experience: 3 years background in clinical or medical record assessment.

Preferred Experience: 3 years of OPO development or clinical experience or certification in the fields of organ, tissue, or ocular banking.

Knowledge of statistical analysis.
