Position Overview:
The Aquatic Safety Attendant is responsible for safeguarding the swimming pool area, ensuring the well-being of all swimmers, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires sound judgment and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the activities of guests in and around the pool to prevent injuries.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment.
  • Remain composed during emergencies and work independently.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and guests.
  • Provide emergency assistance to patrons as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility.
  • Perform basic customer service tasks and assist at the front desk.
  • Participate in all required training sessions and drills.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 15 years old to obtain necessary certifications.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to swim 300 yards, retrieve a 10lb object from the bottom of the pool, and tread water for two minutes without using hands.
  • Demonstrated life-saving skills and water competency are required.
  • Must pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in administering Emergency Oxygen or equivalent training.
Required Certifications:
  • Current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer from the American Red Cross or equivalent.

Working Conditions:
  • Work in an outdoor setting with varying weather conditions, including extended periods in direct sunlight.
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
