Key Responsibilities- Establishes safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control through the setup and removal of traffic management devices such as cones, message boards, and temporary signage.
- Handles installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical apparatus including transformers, switchboards, panel boards, conduit systems, disconnects, contactors, circuit breakers, motor starters, relays, controllers, motors, heaters, CCTV cameras, lane control signals, electronic message signs, lighting, PLC, VFD, and more.
- Possesses a thorough understanding of NEC codes and regulations.
- Utilizes advanced troubleshooting techniques to promptly identify issues across a variety of electrical systems and assets, implementing cost-effective repairs that comply with NEC standards.
- Maintains high-quality workmanship.
- Collaborates effectively with other trades, teams, and inspectors.
- Performs basic maintenance and repairs on structures.
- Available for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems and assets in complex industrial environments.
- Practices safe work methods to ensure a risk-free work environment.
- Ability to identify hazards in both routine and non-routine tasks and make necessary adjustments to prevent accidents.
- Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Effective communication and cooperation skills with colleagues and supervisors.
- Proficient in basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculating proportions, percentages, and measurements).
- Ability to comprehend instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Capable of reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, electrical schematics, and relevant electrical meters.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Electrical Journeyman License in the relevant County/State.
- Minimum of two years' experience at the journeyman level in an industrial or commercial setting (preferred).
- Possession of a Licensed Electrical Journeyman or ability to obtain one within three months of employment (required).
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (required).
Work Conditions
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk on various surfaces, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate verbally.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate manual and powered tools and equipment. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Must be capable of working from heights using bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platform lifts.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and in varying temperatures.
Work Environment
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, high places, and airborne particles.
- Possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; noise levels typically range from moderate to high.
