Nurse Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Educator at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and education to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a unit educator, master teacher, and master preceptor to facilitate evidenced-based research into specialized areas of nursing.
- Utilize your expertise to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients.
- Perform as a unit educator while maintaining clinical skills by performing as a clinical instructor for students from the CON on home unit and/or assisting in staffing on unit.
- Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, providing specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assisting the admission, transfer, and discharge process.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
- 18 months directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days of hire.
- RN licensure in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by New Mexico.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
This position also requires working in a fast-paced environment with significant patient contact, and may be exposed to chemicals, biohazardous materials, and other hazardous substances that require personal protective equipment (PPE).
