Job Title: Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist

The Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of commercial loan services at Northern Bank. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of inquiries and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all bank regulations and policies, maintaining accurate records and reports as required.
  • Review and process daily reports, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.
  • Assist in the processing of payments, loan advances, and transaction reversals, maintaining accuracy in the loan core system.
  • Process non-accrual and charge-off entries, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Provide payoff quotes, process payoffs, and prepare collateral releases, ensuring seamless loan servicing.
  • Assist in the monitoring and payment of loan taxes escrowed, working closely with loan officers to resolve delinquencies.
  • Monitor and manage hazard and flood insurance, including force placement, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties, participate in departmental cross-training, and contribute to special projects as required.
  • Maintain accurate electronic loan documentation files, scanning and indexing documents as needed.
  • Collaborate with loan officers and other personnel in the commercial lending department to resolve loan servicing issues and research requests.
  • Reconcile GL accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years' experience in the lending area of the banking industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient in computer systems and software, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service and quality.
