About the Role

As a Calibration Specialist at KI Industries Inc., you will be integral in executing layouts to confirm that customer sampling submissions align with the contractual accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness expectations. This role provides an excellent opportunity for professional advancement in a rapidly changing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document part layouts, capability studies, and gauge repeatability and reproducibility assessments.
  • Ensure fit, form, and function are verified for intended use as per customer and company standards.
  • Oversee all instruments using the KI Calibration management software, ensuring timely verification of in-house gauge calibration and coordinating third-party calibration schedules.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Quality Manager to guarantee that all gauges requiring external calibration are dispatched promptly, preventing any disruption in product release schedules.
  • Maintain the gauge log and procure gauges as necessary for both KI and its suppliers.
  • Participate in meetings as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with departmental leadership to facilitate proactive responses to both customers and suppliers.
  • Execute special metrology projects as needed by the company, suppliers, and customers.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with various quality system measuring devices, including video and contact CMMs, CMM software applications like PC-DMIS, handheld gauges, and color measurement tools (e.g., Spectrophotometers, Spectroradiometers), along with 3D scanning and post-scan analysis software.
  • Ability to apply GD&T principles in interpreting engineering requirements for the company, customers, and suppliers.
  • Proficient in using Word, spreadsheets, calibration tools, Outlook, and various software solutions.
  • Accurate in data processing, record-keeping, and tabulation.
  • Skilled in blueprint reading.
  • Knowledgeable about the application and use of registered specifications (ASTM, MIL, etc.), along with nondestructive and destructive testing methods.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards and their applicable requirements.
Education
  • High School Diploma or relevant experience in metrology.
