Senior Academic Advisor

University of Washington is seeking a highly skilled Senior Academic Advisor to join their team. As a key member of the Engineering Advising & Student Engagement (EASE) Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of Engineering Undeclared students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one developmental advising to a caseload of approximately 350 students, helping them connect their strengths, interests, and values with the university curriculum.
- Assist students in finding internships, undergraduate research opportunities, and personal development opportunities.
- Guide students in integrating their educational and career plans, providing resources and tools to develop transferable life skills.
- Perform outreach and strengths-based advising to students on academic warning, probation, or not meeting continuation requirements.
- Collaborate with campus partners to provide holistic advising services.
- Serve as liaison to the Engineering Living Learning Community.
- Facilitate resident advisor training and coordinate ENGRUD events.
- Meet biweekly with Resident Director and Assistant Resident Director.
- Coordinate the annual LLC memorandum of understanding review.
- Recruit, select, hire, train, and supervise peer advisers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Science, Engineering, Humanities discipline, or related field.
- Three years of academic advising, student counseling, or teaching experience.
- Ability to provide empathetic, professional, and efficient service to students from diverse backgrounds.
- Dedication to educational equity and access.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
