Product Profitability Manager

Job Summary
The Product Profitability Manager will work closely with the Chief Pricing Officer to assist in the pricing of Consumer and Commercial loans and deposits, utilizing a relationship-based approach. This individual will also be responsible for assisting in the ownership of the Precision Lender (PL) product for Flagstar Bank.
This includes configuration, administration, security, TPVRM, and maintenance of business rules of the Precision Lender tool. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day updates and operational issues of PL, as well as be responsible for teammate training, improved and expanded capabilities, and ownership of the vendor relationship.
This position will also be responsible for pulling from market and competitive insights, customer needs, and internal business priorities to create a product profitability analysis framework for all Consumer and Commercial products. The Product Profitability Manager will align this strategic vision with cross-functional stakeholders to shape product roadmaps, investment areas, and success measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Configuration, administration, security, compliance, and maintenance of business rules for Precision Lender tool.
- Provides strong analytical and technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing solutions that are cost-effective and meet user requirements.
- Partners with various stakeholders, including lines of business, risk, finance, compliance, IT, etc., to gain consensus and mutual understanding of business drivers, requirements, development approach, and plans for Commercial product profitability measurements and analysis.
- Writes detailed business and functional requirements based on business need.
- Presents research and recommendations to management.
- Identifies solutions to unusual and complex problems requiring ingenuity or innovative thinking.
- Monitors implementation and user satisfaction.
- Performs complex systems process analysis, design, and simulation.
- Understands technical problems and solutions in relation to the current and future business environment.
- Suggests plans to integrate new and existing processes.
- Leads, conducts, and facilitates meetings.
- Leads in the development and implementation of strategic technology plans.
- Partners with Project Managers to create project plans.
- Directs solutions to system/business problems.
- Manages and resolves complex projects.
- Develops and executes an effective initial and ongoing training program.
- Innovates with the PL vendor on upcoming capabilities and features and showcases how they can be aligned to the sales process and finance objectives.
- Serves as a consultant to internal business groups on process improvement projects designed to improve their business results.
- Partners with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to identify, refine, and document detailed business needs.
- Uses independent judgment and discretion to make recommendations/decisions about exception pricing of loans and deposits, looking holistically at the entire client relationship.
- Analyzes and resolves problems pertaining to balance sheet management, including evaluating proposed pricing changes.
Additional Accountabilities
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.
- Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Data Science/Analytics.
- Minimum experience required: 15+ Years of deposit and loan relationship-based pricing, as well as overall balance sheet management. Demonstrated team and project leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience and expertise with Precision Lender, or similar pricing model is preferred.

Limited to no travel required.
Physical Demands (ADA)
The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving, or infrequent lifting.
