Housekeeper CDH Casual Days

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper CDH Casual Days to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities- Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing bed linens, and sanitizing all surfaces.
- Follow policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
- Stock paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated.
- Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition and store in appropriate storage area.
- Promote safety in the workplace by using wet floor signs, PPE, and not leaving housekeeping cart or supplies unattended.
- Use chemicals and equipment in an effective and safe manner, using appropriate chemicals diluted at the correct ratio in properly labeled containers.
- Notify supervisor of equipment needing repairs and report all safety hazards to manager.
- Communicate to supervisor any issues, including inability to complete schedule, and be proactive in dealing with observed deficiencies.
- Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with hospital personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
- Exhibit the ability to articulate designed scripting model to each customer we serve.
- Use organizational and unit/department resources efficiently.
- Manage work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time.
- Contribute to opportunities and processes for continuous improvement.
- Participate in efforts to reduce costs, streamline work processes, improve and grow services we provide.
- Present a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
- Provide accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, addressing questions and concerns promptly or identifying appropriate person and resources to do so.
- Use effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service breakdowns when they occur.
- Demonstrate teamwork by helping co-workers within and across departments, communicating effectively with others, respecting diverse opinions and styles, and acknowledging the assistance and contributions of others.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to maintain confidentiality of patient information. You will also need to be able to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
