Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Patient Safety Technician to join our CDH Resource Team on a part-time nights schedule. As a Patient Safety Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide continuous safety observation and monitoring of patients identified to be at risk for causing injury to themselves or others.
- Remain at the bedside of assigned patients at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
- Identify and remove hazards from the patient and patient environment, and report as appropriate.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, as delegated by supervising RN, including ambulating, toileting, and assisting with bed making and positioning.
- Provide calming and reorienting conversation with patients in cases of patient agitation or confusion.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Physical Demands Requirement: lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull force up to 50 pounds
