Responsibilities:
This role acts as the Human Resources Leader for our operations.
The HR Leader serves as a bridge between Human Resources and Manufacturing, addressing employee-related matters that require expertise in contract administration and company policies.
This position is tasked with implementing human resource practices and objectives that create business value through strategic workforce management while aligning Human Resources with the overall business strategy.
Key responsibilities include fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, job certification, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and development of a superior workforce.
Support performance improvement through effective work systems by providing training support on both technical and non-technical skills, coaching team members, and facilitating process improvement initiatives.
Develop, communicate, and oversee processes to ensure a successful labor relations environment.Proactively create processes for identifying and managing labor relations issues while collaborating closely with the Facility Leadership Team to support initiatives and ensure contract compliance.
Address inquiries from employees regarding Collective Bargaining Agreements and company policies.Assist in administering the Collective Bargaining Agreement and manage functions related to labor records.
Maintain and update grievance databases and ensure compliance with timelines.Investigate grievances and recommend solutions to Front Line Leaders and Managers.
Assist in developing and administering programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the company's strategic goals.
Ensure adherence to employment and labor laws.Foster an employee-oriented culture that prioritizes safety, quality, throughput, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Conduct investigations related to disciplinary actions and complaints.
Attract, select, retain, assess, and train potential and current employees.
Organize and conduct orientations for new hires.
Process and manage personnel actions within Human Resource and Payroll Information Systems, ensuring data accuracy by following established processes.
Develop and manage performance management and improvement systems.
Support plant safety through specific initiatives, investigations, and training.
Drive strategic and tactical planning in organizational development, culture, capability development, and performance management.
Enhance and administer comprehensive training programs to meet facility objectives.
Act as Facility EEO Administrator, facilitating the Affirmative Action Plan, conducting biannual reviews of the EEO policy, investigating suspected violations, and supporting the company's diversity initiatives.
Investigate unemployment claims and represent the company during hearings.Support attendance and leave management programs Qualifications:
Education: 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's Degree is preferred. SPHR/PHR Certification and/or SHRM – CP/SCP is desired. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ADP, ATS, Kronos, or related tools.
Skills and Requirements:
Union experience is required. A minimum of three to five years' experience as an HR Generalist in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Ability to implement and interpret collective bargaining agreements. Energetic and dynamic with excellent presentation and communication skills. Comfortable and proficient in public speaking. Skilled in Work Systems and Change Management. Strong problem-solving abilities. Results-driven with the capability to motivate others. Willingness to relocate. Proven ability to lead, build consensus, and work collaboratively within a team environment. Experienced in organizational development, talent management, succession planning, and employee development. Demonstrated proficiency in Human Resource Information Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with external stakeholders, representing the business to the public, government, and other entities. Capacity to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with employees, management, and union representatives. For individuals hired to work in California, Pactiv Evergreen is required by law to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
The compensation range is specific to California and considers various factors in compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
At Pactiv Evergreen, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the specifics of each case.
