Position Overview:

The Senior Coding Specialist/Lead Clinical Data Analyst serves as a key member of the Corporate Coding Team, responsible for reviewing denials and appeals related to coding issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review daily Epic work queues and report on inpatient and outpatient account trends, predicting fluctuations in accounts receivable for both inpatient and outpatient accounts.
  • Stay up-to-date on revenue cycle CMS guidelines, managed care contracts, and LCDs.
  • Perform coding, DRG assignment, collection of predefined indicators, and abstracting medical records.
  • Review SMART accounts on a daily basis as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in coding, inpatient or clinical-related area, and diagnosis-related group analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Associate's degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with equivalent experience or related certification.
  • Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Nurse, or Registered Health Information Technician and/or Certified Coding Specialist.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

As needed.
