We are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team at CPA CFO NOW. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Management: Oversee both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring full cycle management through appropriate accounting software.

Expense Reporting: Administer employee expense reports utilizing platforms like Expensify or similar reimbursement systems.

Payroll Support: Assist in payroll administration, including onboarding new employees, processing terminations, and managing rate changes and benefits renewals as necessary.

Bank Reconciliation: Conduct daily postings and reconciliations for bank and credit card transactions, ensuring accurate GL coding by class and project.

Monthly Close Process: Contribute to the monthly closing procedures in compliance with GAAP standards.

Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and generate financial statements along with management reports.

Chart of Accounts: Create and maintain the chart of accounts as directed by management.

General Ledger Support: Assist in managing the general ledger and post all necessary journal entries.

Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support to external auditors and tax preparers.

Qualifications

Experience: 1 to 4 years in accounting or bookkeeping is required.

Education: A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge: Strong grasp of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.

Software Proficiency: Experience with QuickBooks (both Desktop and Online) is essential, along with familiarity with Expensify, TriNet, and other accounting software.

Payroll Experience: Experience working with third-party payroll providers such as TriNet, Oasis, ADP, Paychex, or Intuit is beneficial.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact effectively with senior management.

Attributes: Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills, self-directed, and capable of working independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Preferred Environment: A strong preference for candidates with experience in tech and startup environments.
